Harvey K. Littleton + Friends at Western Carolina University
(11/14/06) The Fine and Performing Arts Center at Western Carolina University will present the exhibition "Harvey K. Littleton + Friends: A Legacy of Transforming Object, Image & Idea." Opening on November 19, the exhibition highlights the experimental nature of the vitreographic processes that Littleton and his colleagues continue to develop. In addition to vitreograph prints by a number of artists, the exhibition will include a selection of Harvey Littleton's studio glass work and early ceramics as well as a sampling of Littleton's collection of art glass. The exhibition continues through March 3, 2007.
Morgan and Burke-Morgan in "Couples" exhibition
(11/11/06) Artists Clarence Morgan and Arlene Burke-Morgan are currently featured in a group exhibition titled "Couples Discourse" in the Special Exhibitions Gallery II of the The Palmer Museum of Art. The exhibition continues through December 15, 2006. The exhibition brings together recent work by 21 artist couples from New York, Los Angeles and the Midwest. The exhibition focuses on the individual creations of each artist rather than on collaborative works. The Palmer Museum of Art is located on the campus of Penn State University in University Park, Pennsylvania.
Glass: Material Matters
(11/01/06) The first exhibition of contemporary glass organized by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art continues through December 10, 2006. "Glass: Material Matters" features over fifty works from the museum's permanent collection, including Harvey K. Littleton's Red/Blue Combination Arc of 1984.
Carol Wax to exhibit in Greece
(7/06/06) Printmaker Carol Wax is currently preparing for a solo exhibition at The Herakleidon Art Museum, a new art venue in the Thissio area of Athens, Greece. Titled "Shadowplay," the exhibition will open on September 15 and continue through the end of 2006. The Herakleidon Art Museum was built to house the private art collection of Paul and Anna Belinda Firos. It also hosts temporary exhibitions by contemporary artists. The exhibition will include Wax's vitreograph "Sewing Patterns," which was published by Littleton Studios in 1997. The Herakleidon Art Museum is located at 16 Herakleidon Street in Thissio. Richard Jolley exhibition opens in Wisconsin

Art is hosting the exhibition "Richard Jolley: Sculptor of Glass" from
July 7 through September 3, 2006.
Over the course of his 29-year career, Richard Jolley has produced a body of
sculpture that explores the human figure, its timeless beauty and its
expressive potential. The exhibition provides an in-depth survey of his
career, including recent mixed-media work.
Richard Jolley visited Littleton Studios in 2002 to create five vitreograph print editions. Jolley's prints reflect his love of saturated color and youthful, classically-inspired figures.
Vero Beach Museum of Art to feature Glass
(4/12/06) The Vero Beach Museum of Art will present "Studio Glass: Then and Now" from May 13 through September 24, 2006 in its Holmes Gallery. The exhibition features work by Harvey K. Littleton and other contemporary glass artists, including Dale Chihuly, Benjamin Moore, Duncan McClellan, Jon Kuhn, and Dante Marioni. Turchin Center for the Visual Arts presents Vitreography
(4/12/06) Appalachian State University's Turchin Center for the Visual Arts will present "Reflections on a Legacy: Vitreographs from Littleton Studios." The exhibition will open on July 7 and continue through September 30, 2006. Vitreograph prints have been the focus of creative and technical efforts at Littleton Studios since 1981. The exhibition will explore the scope of that production in nearly 100 prints. The Turchin Center is located at 423 West King Street in Boone, North Carolina. Harvey K. Littleton receives award
(4/03/06) Harvey K. Littleton received an award from the Cultural Affairs Council of Saint Lucie County in a ceremony in Fort Pierce, Florida on April 2. The award is given to those who have furthered art and culture in Saint Lucie County. He was cited for his contribution to the development of the Studio Glass Movement. Littleton's gallery, The Littleton Collection, is located at 3690 North U.S. Highway 1 in Fort Pierce. It features studio glass, antique art glass and vitreographic prints.
Harvey K. Littleton featured in Vero Beach Magazine
(4/01/06) The April issue of Vero Beach Magazine features an article about Harvey K. Littleton and his gallery, The Littleton Collection. Titled "Glass, Glorious Glass," the article examines Littleton's legacy in the glass world and his family history in on the east central coast of Florida. His grandfather, Dr. J. T. Littleton, settled in Fort Pierce, Florida about 1916. His father, Dr. Jesse Littleton, retired to the area in 1950 after a career as Director of Research at Corning Glass. Harvey K. Littleton has visited the area since childhood and opened the Littleton Collection on U.S. Highway 1 North of Fort Pierce, in 2001.
John Wilde, 1919 - 2006
(3/19/06) Artist John Wilde died on March 9. He was a colleague of Harvey K. Littleton in the art department of the University of Wisconsin, where he taught from 1948 until his retirement in 1982. Wilde was part of the Wisconsin Surrealist movement of the 1930s and '40s with Marshall Glasier, Dudley Hupper, Karl Priebe and Gertrude Abercrombie. His paintings and graphic works are acclaimed as much for their eerily quiet surrealism as for the tender feeling with which Wilde imbued them. Littleton Studios published vitreographs by Wilde in 1996 and 1998.
Herb Jackson exhibits at Stetson University
(3/06/06) An exhibition of oil paintings on birch panels by Herb Jackson is currently on exhibition at the Duncan Art Gallery in Simpson Hall at Stetson University in Deland, Florida. Darby Bannard exhibits at Edison College
(1/17/06) Paintings by internationally recognized painter Walter Darby Bannard will be featured in a solo exhibition in Fort Myers. "Moving into Color" opens on January 20, 2006 in the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Edison College, 8099 College Parkway in Fort Myers. the exhibition will continue through February 26, 2006.
