Harvey K. Littleton in Corning Museum exhibition
(11/15/05) The Corning Museum of Glass will present "Decades in Glass: The '60s" on the West Bridge of the museum beginning November 17, 2005 and continuing through April 2, 2006. Artists whose work is included in the exhibition are Andre Billeci, Edris Eckhardt, Erwin Eisch, Elsa Freund, Marvin Lipovsky, Harvey Littleton and Richard Marquis.
Morgan and Burke-Morgan to be in "Couples" exhibition
(8/30/05) Two artists whose prints have been recently published by Littleton Studios will be included in an exhibition about artist couples in the fall of 2006 at Penn State University's Palmer Museum of Art. The work of Clarence Morgan and Arlene Burke-Morgan will be among that featured in "Couples Discourse." Twenty-four other couples will have work in the exhibition, including Eleanor and Dave Antin, Helen and Brice Marden, Gladys Nilsson and Jim Nutt and Sylvia Plimack Mangold and Robert Mangold. The Palmer Museum of Art is located in University Park, Pennsylvania.
Claire Van Vliet at Littleton Studios
(8/23/05) Janus Press founder Claire Van Vliet is at Littleton Studios in Spruce Pine, North Carolina where she is working on three vitreograph prints. Van Vliet's interest in rock formations around the world has inspired her production at Littleton Studios in the past. She continues in that vein with imagery from the Capitol Reef National Park of Utah and the City of Rocks National Reserve in Idaho.
Burroughs-Chapin Art Museum to exhibit vitreographs
(8/18/05) Forty vitreograph prints from Littleton Studios will be on display this fall at the Burroughs-Chapin Art Museum in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. "A Crystalline Place: Southeastern Artists at Littleton Studios" will open with a reception from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2005. The exhibition will continue through October 30, 2005. The museum is located at 3100 South Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach. For more information telephone 843/238-2510
Philabaum Glass Gallery features vitreographs
(7/28/05) A selection of vitreograph prints from Littleton Studios is currently on exhibition at Philabaum Glass Gallery. Sixteen artists are represented in the exhibition, including glass artists Dale Chihuly, Erwin Eisch. Richard Jolley and Tom Philabaum. The exhibition continues through September 17, 2005. Philabaum Glass Gallery is located at at 4280 North Campbell Avenue, Suite 105, Tucson, Arizona.
"The Littleton Studio Legacy" at Bascom-Louise Gallery
(7/15/05) The Bascom-Louise Gallery in Highlands, North Carolina is currently showing an exhibition of glass by Harvey K. Littleton and vitreographs by various artists published at Littleton Studios. The exhibition continues through July 25.
Peter Loewer vitreographs in arboretum exhibition
(7/05/2005) An exhibition of works by Ashville artist Peter Loewer will be on display at the North Carolina Arboretum through October 4, 2005. A selection of vitreograph prints produced by Mr. Loewer in collaboration with Littleton Studios is included in the exhibition. A reception will be held at the Arboretum on Sunday, July 10 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. For more information call the arboretum at 828/665-2492.
Harvey K. Littleton collection featured at Mint Museum
(6/03/05) The Mint Museum of Art is currently featuring the work of three artist-collectors in its exhibition "Point of View II: North Carolina Artists as Collectors." The works of Harvey K. Littleton, Mark Hewitt and Randy Shull are on exhibit alongside artworks by others that they have collected. The exhibition demonstrates how artist collectors are motivated to collect through personal relationships with their peers. Curated by Melissa G. Post, Curator of Craft and Design at the Mint Museum, the exhibition will be on view through October 9, 2005.
The Littleton Collection gallery reopens
(6/03/05) Under reconstruction after the devastating hurricanes of 2004, The Littleton Collection gallery is again open to the public and has resumed its normal hours of 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. James L. Tanner prints featured at Littleton Collection
(1/18/05) Prints by James L. Tanner will be featured at The Littleton Collection in February. A ceramic sculptor, Tanner's awards include two National Endowment for the Arts grants and a McKnight Foundation Fellowship. Collections that hold his work include the Renwick Gallery of the National Museum of American Art in Washington and the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City.
Clarence Morgan exhibits at Carthage College
(1/18/05) Four vitreograph prints by Clarence Morgan will be featured in "Chop Mark II," an exhibition of contemporary printmaking at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The exhibition, which will run from February 24 through April 9, 2005, will be held in the H. F. Johnson Gallery of Art at 2001 Alford Park Drive.
