CONNOR EVERTS b. Bellingham, Washington 1926, resides in Torrence, California
Connor Everts spent his early childhood living in the major port cities of the Pacific coast. After World War II he studied art on the G.I. Bill at the Chouinard Art Institute and at universities in California, Washington, Mexico and England. Upon the completion of his studies he worked nights as a longshoreman in the Los Angeles-Long Beach Harbor and painted during the day. An industrial accident left him unable to continue longshoring and he turned to teaching art. Over the years he has taught at a number of institutions in California including the University of Southern California, University of California at Riverside, California Institute of the Arts and the San Francisco Art Institute.
He also taught at the University of Washington in Seattle and Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. As a lecturer he has visited Latin America, Japan and Europe. Connor Everts was instrumental in the founding of the Los Angeles Printmaking Society and was among the first guest artists at the Tamarind Workshop in New Mexico. As a visiting artist at Littleton Studios, Everts coined the word "vitreography" to describe the process of printing fine art editions from glass matrices.
Everts's work has been collected widely in the United States by institutions including the Brooklyn Museum, California State University, Art Institute of Chicago, Detroit Institute of Art, Kinsey Institute (Bloomington, Indiana), Library of Congress, Los Angeles Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art (New York) among others too numerous to mention. Overseas Everts's work is in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, Japan.

In a reminiscence of Connor Everts, Harvey Littleton wrote that Everts "...is good at giving things names -- or, I should say, he is good at renaming things. He renames everything. During his first visit in 1987, Littleton Studios soon became "the Faw Pog Center." Soon, thanks to Connor, small signs appeared on the road to the studio that directed others to Faw Pog." When Everts made a return visit to Littleton Studios in 1989 he created Faw Pog Flotsam. According to Harvey Littleton, this large, energetic composition brings "...harmony to an improbable collection of incongruous shapes, colors, words and fake collaged elements, including a flattened film box and an LAX baggage ticket."
